Location: San Bernardino National Forest, Mountain Top Ranger District, western Big Bear Valley area.

Acres Burned: 15,433 Percent Contained: 12 %

Date Started: September 14, 2007 Cause: Under Investigation

Mandatory Evacuations:

Fawnskin - Evacuation shelter has been set up by the Red Cross at Big Bear High School.

Voluntary Evacuations:

Lucerne Valley from Crystal Creek west to High Road.

Green Valley Lake, Running Springs and Arrowbear

Red Cross Evacuation Centers

Big Bear High School

Jerry Lewis Community Center

Victor Valley Community Center

Areas Closed:

Hanna Flat Campground

Ironwood Campground

Big Pine Flats Campground

Camp Whittle

Road Closures: Highway 18 is closed to Big Bear-Use Hwy 38 as alternate.

Weather, Fire Behavior and Smoke Conditions:

Low humidity (9-15%), low fuel moistures and temperature high ranging from 65 to 70 oF with winds out of the southwest 8 -15 mph. Fire behavior expected to continue to be extreme.

Today's Actions:

Structure protection in the Fawnskin community will remain a priority. Crews will continue to construct containment lines to decrease the east movement of the fire.
