Level 3 Evacuation Notice for Black Butte Ranch

A Level 3 Evacuation Notice was given for an orderly evacuation of Black Butte Ranch at 2:30 pm today. The decision to evacuate was made due to the active fire behavior and for public safety.

The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue will be responsible for the evacuation with assistance from the Black Butte Ranch Fire Department and the Black Butte Police Department.

Highway 20 is not restricted at this time but expect delays due to the evacuation traffic. Hwy 242 will remain open to light traffic. Recommended routes are Hwy 58 and Hwy 26 to travel heading west.

The American Red Cross has established an evacuation shelter at the Sister Community Church at 1300 West McKenzie Highway in Sisters.
