Ralston Fire 100% Contained on Sept 17 at 6:00 PM

The Ralston Fire, east of Foresthill on the Tahoe and Eldorado National Forests, is being declared 100% contained as of 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 17, 2006. The final acreage burned is 8,423 acres. Many firefighting forces have been demobilized and sent to their home units or to other incidents in the region, but firefighters and resource specialists remain on the fire to work on mop-up activities, continue assessments, and begin restoration work on the burned over lands.
