Moonlight Fire is 100% contained as of Sept. 24. Management of the fire is being transitioned back to the Plumas NF today, Sept. 25.

Heavy fuels continue to smolder.

Significant Events

The fire was declared 100% contained yesterday. Crews continue to patrol and mop up.

All major highways remain open, however, most Forest roads are closed to access. Evacuations and road closures are being re-evaluated.

Crews continue to patrol, improve and mop up 500 feet from control line.

With the success of suppression efforts, containment was declared on 9-15-2007. Control was declared on 9/24/07 1800 hrs.

Remarks

The Type II team NorCal-1 (Schwartzlander) will transition management of the fire back to the Plumas NF today, 9/25 at 11 am. Fire suppression repair/rehab has been initiated.
