Summary

The Rancho fire was declared fully contained on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, after having burned 482 acres since it's start on Saturday, June 30, 2007, at 5:56 p.m. Steep terrain, wind, and hot dry weather were all challenges that fire fighters faced as they battled the blaze. No structures were damaged or lost, and no injuries were reported.

Some recreational facilities along the Santa Ynez River road remain closed to entry while they are assessed on a daily basis for both public and firefighter safety, Every attempt will be made to provide maximum facilities to the public.

OPEN: All recreational facilities along Paradise Road, including Rancho Oso Guest Ranch, Lower Oso Day Use Area, and Upper Oso Campground. The Aliso Traill from Sage Hill Campground to Upper Oso Campground, and Arroyo Burro Road from Camino Cielo, to an exit point through Rancho Oso.

CLOSED:Santa Cruz Trail and Camuesa Road (commonly known as the Buckhorn OHV Route.
