Significant Events

Incident Command Post moved to Marble Mountain Rance. Traffic controls are in place on Road 10N25. Expect delays during shift changes to allow for safe movement of fire crews and public on this steep and narrow road. The only place along the Salmon River that will remain closed to recreation activities is from Brannons Bar to Butler Creek. This segment of the river and Salmon River Road is subject to occasional roll-out of rocks and debris from the Somes Fire. In many cases the slopes are very steep above the Salmon River Road and roll- out material has missed the road and entered the river.

Outlook

Planned Actions

Mop up accessible hot spots identified by infra red flight. Continue to hold containment lines on Highway 96 and the Salmon River Road. Crews will continue to monitor confinement line in Butler Creek and upper end of Pearch Creek. Major rehab efforts of dozer lines. Mechanical chipping of piles of vegetation and slash.
