The Chestnut Fire started by a lightning strike on Sunday, August 18, 2013. The fire is burning in the Paradise Range on the Austin Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
The Arizona Central West Zone Incident Management Team, led by Incident Commander Bea Day, assumed responsibility for the management of the fire at 11 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.

Minimal fire behavior observed today. Surface fire in isolated pockets of unburned fuel.
Transition with incoming ICT4 (G. Suszek). Resources continued to mop up and secure the fire's perimeter.
ICT4 will assume command of the fire at 6 am tomorrow. Resources will continue to mop up and secure the fire's perimeter. Demobilization will occure for team and two crews.
