Rock Creek Fire is 100% contained and 100% controlled September 10 2013 at 3:30 PM. All fire fighting forces and equipment have been demobilized from the fire. All rehabilitation of dozer lines and hand lines is complete. The fire will be monitored until a season ending weather event occurs for the fire to be completely out. This is the final update to Inciweb.

Yesterday (9/3), Yesterday’s weather was warm and dry with temperatures in the high 70s and relative humidity in the 20% range. Today (9/4), the weather will be similar to yesterday with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Only minimal smoldering expected.
Yesterday (9/3), A transfer to a Type 3 oragnization took place with Brown IC-3 taking over manamgment of the fire. One crew continued to patrol for hot spots within the fire perimeter and to rehabilitate fireline and helispots established during the incident. Rehabilitation of the contingency dozer/handline in the Main Fork Rock Creek is on going.
Today (9/4), a crew will continue to patrol for hot spots within the fire perimeter and to rehabilitate fireline and helispots. This will be the last update to Inciweb unless conditions change.
Due to decreased fire activity, no structures are currently listed as threatened. The Beartooth Highway (U.S. Hwy 212) is open between Red Lodge and the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone, which includes access to Cooke City and Silver Gate. The community of Red Lodge is open for business and campgrounds in the local area remain open.
A Custer National Forest area closure is in effect. The closure of Silver Run Trail #102, Ingles Creek Trail #35, Beartrack Trail #8, and Silver Run Plateau Trail #60 is no longer in effect. The temporary flight restriction (TFR) is no longer in effect surrounding the Rock Creek Fire area. Stage 1 fire restrictions are in place for the Beartooth Ranger District, except for the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Stage 2 fire restrictions are in place for Carbon County.
