Summary

The Kingsley Complex is comprised of several fires in the Yolla Bolly-Middle Eel Wilderness and a portion of the Hunter Fire. To provide for public and firefighter safety, FH 7 is closed to traffic at Alder Springs and at Mendocino Pass.

Creeping and smoldering fire behavior was observed during the day shift.

Significant Events

Evacuation order for the fire area to include Hays Place will remain in effect. Evacuation order for Snow Basin, Jenks Place, Garnett Camp, Keernan Camp, Carpenter Place, Keller Place and Spooner Camp was lifted August 8th at 1700. Forest Hwy 7 is open. Direct line construction continued in Branch III (Divisions O, R, and V) on the Hunter Fire leading to 91 percent containment. Full containment should be expected on August 12th.

Outlook

Planned Actions

The East Fire is in hold and mop-up status. Suppression rehab will continue on the East Fire. An Initial Attack Group continues to support the Mendocino N.F. No ground resources are assigned to the Yolla Bolly Complex, the Kingsley Fire, the Minnie Fire, or the Soldier Fire and will be turned over to the Mendocino National Forest on August 10th at 0600. A transition to Norm Walker's Type II IMT will occur August 10th at 0600. All resources assigned to the Kingsley Complex will be transferred to the Hunter Fire. This will be the final report issued for the Kingsley Complex.

Containment targets have been met on the East Fire.

Remarks

The Kingsley Complex is comprised of the Soldier Fire-14 acres 100% contained; Kingsley Fire-558 acres 100% contained; Minnie Fire-5 acres 100% contained; East (portion of the Hunter Fire)-5023 acres 100% contained and the Yolla Bolly Complex- 1247 acres all continue to be monitored by air.
