Summary
This is the final update for the Flick Creek Fire.
Firefighters continued to mop up around the perimeter of the Flick Creek Fire over the weekend. Structural protection equipment was removed from the structures near Stehekin Landing. Fire activity has been reduced to a smoldering, creeping ground fire. No acreage growth has occurred. A small spot fire outside the perimeter was found on Friday. Several helicopter bucket drops were used to slow the fires progress. Saturday, four heli-rappellers visited the spot fire and continue to secure and mop up the area.
Due to reduced threat of fire to the community of Stehekin, a decision was made to reduce the evacuation status to a Level 1 Evacuation Notice for the entire Stehekin Valley including Hazard Creek and all residences from the Stehekin Landing up to High Bridge.
Flick Creek Camp, Purple Point Camp, Purple Point Overflow Camp, Purple Creek Trail, Imus Loop Trail, and Lakeshore Trail #1247 from Stehekin to Moore Point remain closed. The Summit Trail, Boulder Creek Trail, and Juanita Lake Camp are now open. Please note that you may still encounter smoke on theses trails.
The extended weather forecast calls for continued precipitation. Excess resources, both crews and equipment, are being released from the Flick Creek Fire.
Please note that this will be the last update on the Flick Creek Fire. Incident Commander Wayne Cook wishes to thank community members and numerous cooperators for the invaluable support that was provided throughout the incident.
