The fire continues to burn small isolated interior green islands with occasional short low intensity runs through the ground fuels. The active ground fire is helping to create a mosaic pattern on the interior of the fire while helping to eliminate the possibility of fire runs threatenng our lines. Activity continues to be minimal during the night.

Significant Events

The continued use of Palm IR w/ helicopter has helped to identify areas of work for the crews. The fire area is experiencing warm temperatures and slightly higher windspeeds. We have reduced staffing on the incident and are managing the fire under cost containment principles. The fire was declared contained today at 1800 hours.

Outlook

Planned Actions

Fire suppression resources will continue the mop up of high priority targets while focusing on fire fighter safety while working in areas of snags. The fire will be allowed to burn out the islands of green fuels further eliminating threats to our line. Rehab of dozer and contingency line is progressing along the South and South East portions of the fire.

Projected Movement

The fire will continue to consume interior islands with some open flame but this activity is not expected to threaten the containment lines.

Containment Target
