The mandatory evacuation of Hobo Gulch Road south to Helena has been lifted as of 0600 10/10/06. The Trinity River remains closed between Skunk Point Campground on the east and Whites Bar Day Use Area on the west. Except for residents, travel is prohibited on Big French Creek, Canyon Creek, and Hobo Gulch Roads. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest General Forest Area Closure remains in effect. Fuels Involved

Medium to heavy timber with forest litter and understory. Heavy loading of 1000 hour fuels from past fires and bug kill trees are also in the area surrounding the fire.

Fire Behavior

Minimal activity along the perimeter. Interior islands continue to exhibit active burning.

Significant Events

Crews completed line and continued mop up activites on the Pigeon Fire yesterday. In the north, crews monitored the fire along St. Clair Creek, which continues to hold. Crews focused on fire suppression rehabilitation, and backhaul and recovery of accountable property.

Planned Actions

Crews will continue mop up of the Pigeon Fire. Crews will monitor the north end of the fire. Crews will focus on fire suppression rehablitation with an emphasis on the north end of the fire, and will continue back haul of accountable property and trash.

Projected Movement

Any anticipated movement on the northern perimeter towards the northeast and east into the confinement area of the Trinity Alps.
