While the fire originally started on Kern County jurisdiction, by the evening, it had burned into Los Padres National Forest. The fire is currently under unified command with Kern County. The fire has burned 722 acres and is 92% contained. Containment of the fire is expected on July 24, 2013. There are currently 337 resources assigned to the Rancho Fire, including 14 crews, 10 engines, 0 dozers, 1 water tender and 2 helicopters.

The injury that was reported as a head injury was incorrect and was actually a heat injury. Today 4 minor injuries to the firefighters occurred. Demobilization began today.
Today's actions included completing line construction, holding and improving existing line.
Voluntary evacuation order has been rescinded. Ft Tejon State Park remains closed.
