The Ridge Fire is currently in a monitor status. All trails and roads are open. Users should continue to use caution if traveling through recently burned areas and be on the lookout for snag trees or rolling rock. During any high wind event extra caution is advised. The Ridge Fire was ignited by lightning on July 16 2013 and continues to show occasional smoke in the Castro and 8-Mile confluence.
