413 acres of aerial mulching were completed on Sept. 29. Effectiveness monitoring will take place next year to see if the mulching treatments performed as expected.
Noxious weed detection surveys will occur next growing season and weeds will be treated when found. To help prevent the spread of noxious weed seeds boot brush stations will be installed at trailheads within the next few weeks with help from the Friends of Nevada Wilderness.
Engineers continue work on road drainage improvements and replace structures where needed. Storm patrols will be activated after each storm to monitor culverts and road conditions.
Hazard warning signs for trails and roads have been ordered and will be installed with help from the Spring Mountain Youth Camp.
