The Weiser River Fire, located five miles north of Council, Idaho and burning in brush and grass with a few strings of timber intermixed is at 407 acres in size and is 100% contained.
Fire suppression efforts - including fire crews on site, heavy equipment support and the use of aviation resources were highly successful in quickly containing the fire. Key to the sucess of these efforts was the mutual aid and support from cooperating agencies, the county and the surrounding communities. Full containment of the fire was achieved as expected.
