The Dean Peak Fire started on June 29, 2013 at approximately 3:30 p.m. and was started by lightning. The fire is located approximately 10 miles southeast of Kingman, Arizona, in the Hualapai Mountains, east of Dean Peak.
The fire is currently burning on Bureau of Land Management (BLM), State Lands, and private land and is burning brush, pinyon, juniper, and occasional ponderosa pine.

The BLM has enacted an area closure for the area affected by the Dean Peak Fire. The area is east of DW Ranch Road, north of Hualapai Mountain Road, north of Hualapai Mountain County Park, north of the Pine Lake Community, north of Wheeler Wash Road, west of Blake Ranch Road and south of Old Highway 93.
