Incident Overview

On 01/27/2013 at 1330 hours, the Ridgeland Fire Crew was dispatched to report of wildland fire near Milepost 116.5 on the west side of the parkway. NATR Engine 670, Ranger Derousse and Gluckstadt Volunteer Fire Department responded to this fire. All units arrived and briefed at the incident at 1400 hours. Suppression and mop up operations started after briefing. Ranger Derousse was released at 1430 hours to check are for possible suspects. The reporting party reported six juveniles on the trail immediately before he came across the fire. The Cathead fire was contained at 1454 hours and declared out on 01/28/2013 at 0900 hours.
