Fork Fire Update 10/21 pm
The Fork Fire is now 100% contained and remains at 353 acres as of 07:00 pm Sunday October 21, 2012. Firefighters will continue to patrol the fire until a significant weather event occurs and they are no longer needed. Today firefighters finished constructing containment lines and mopping up the interior.
Incident Commander Todd Hoover said "The Type III Organization would like to thank the local community and firefighters from near and far for their continued support during this incident." This will be the last update from Fork Fire Information.
Resources on scene include State of South Dakota, Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, as well as area volunteer fire departments. Fire information can be reached at 605-593-4524.
