Incident Overview

The Lookout Fire started at approximately 7:49 a.m. on October 17, 2012. The cause is still under investigation. The fire is located off of Highway 154 and Painted Cave Road, 10 miles north of Santa Barbara. The mandatory evacuations for the Painted Cave area have been lifted for residents only as of 5 pm, October 17, 2012. The warning evacuations remain in effect for West Camino Cielo, Hidden Valley and Trout Club. The fire has the potential to grow to 100 acres.
