The Washington Southwest Region Incident Management Type 3 Team will transfer the coordination of resources for the Taylor Bridge Fire to a Washington State Department of Natural Resources Type 4 Team as of 0600 Wednesday, August 29th.. Fire crews were able to perform mop up and patrol operations as well as rehabilitation efforts to repair damage caused by fire control measures. Crews achieved the mop up standard of 300 feet from the perimeter of the fire and 100 feet from structures. The Type 4 Team will continue to seek out any remaining hot spots. The Taylor Bridge Fire Incident Command Center will be re-located at the Cle Elum Department of Natural Resources Work Center. Residents should continue to contact the Kittitas County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) 509-933-8305, for fire recovery information. Additionally, the Level 2 Evacuation Order is still in place through the Labor Day weekend.

Safety:
Fire officials request that the public be aware there will still be a fire fighter presence for the coming week and request that you use additional caution in the fire area. DNR crews will continue to monitor and mop up as needed for at least the next week. Internal smokes that do not threaten escape will remain visible in some locations as mop up operations continues.
Fire danger remains high across Washington State. The USFS Cle Elum and Naches Ranger Districts have banned all wood and charcoal campfires outside of the Wilderness areas including developed campgrounds. Check www.fs.usda.gov/okawen for further information. Be sure to check with your fire agencies for local fire restrictions.
As the Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo begin this weekend, motorists are urged to use caution as fire crews continue operations along major County roadways. Washington Department of Transportation has placed electronic bulletin boards at the following locations to warn motorists of visible smoke and ongoing fire fighting activity in the area of the burn perimeter: SR 910 and SR 10, US 97 and SR 10, US 97 and SR 970.
