Incident Overview

Wally McRae, cowboy poet, visited the Rosebud Complex to thank firefighters and entertain with two of his poems.

As of Monday evening, (08/13) the Rosebud Complex of fires is considered 97% contained. The only fire in the complex not completely contained is the largest, the Chalky Fire at nearly 130,000 acres. A RED FLAG WARNING on Tuesday will test fire lines. Rehab continues on all fires as needed. Stan Benes' Type 2 Incident Management Team will transition on Tuesday with two Type 3 organizations which will take over management of the incident at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

In addition to residences and outbuildings lost, appoximately 220 cattle were killed, numerous vehicles, farm & ranch equipment, propane tanks, haystacks and personal property near structures was burned.
