FINAL NEWS RELEASE
The North Ridge fire is 100 percent contained. There has not been a change in fire growth, leaving total acres burned at 740, as crews continue to mop up hot spots today within the perimeter on the North side.
The Incident Command Team (Schultz) along with Greg Lesch, District Ranger, would like to thank all resources for their dedication while fighting the North Ridge fire. With their commitment and hard work, not a single structure was lost and the fire was kept from advancing on Forest Service and BLM lands. Many agencies, many resources and many hands made this all possible.
The District Ranger would like to give special thanks to County Commissioner Mike Paradis & the Council Rural Fire Department, for coordinating and working closely together throughout this event.
A total of 207 individuals along with 53 support staff members supported this fire. Along with Forest Service, BLM and Utah State resources, Forest Service Contractors including; dozers, operators and water tenders other resources included; private land owners, rural fire departments of Ontario, Indian Valley, Council, Midvale, New Plymouth Cambridge and New Meadows, City departments of Fruitvale and Payette, Adams County and Adams County Sheriffs personnel, Idaho Power personnel and Council EMS.
After today, the Incident Command Team will release the fire back to the Council Rural Fire Department, which will likely declare the fire controlled in the next day or two.
We would like to remind you to be extra careful with fire, no matter the activity. Your campfire is your responsibility. Drown, stir and feel campfires before leaving your campsite and take care not to park or travel in tall grass.
