Incident Overview

The Monte Fire has been fully contained as of 6:00 p.m. Some crews will remain in the fire area patrolling and for fire suppresion repair work for the next few days. Closure of El Monte Road has been lifted as well as the El Capitan Reservoir. This will be the last update for the fire.

Significant Events

El Monte Road is open to the public. El Capitan Reservoir is now open but weekly schedule includes Thursday-Monday. El Monte Park will remain closed until late Wednesday. El Monte Truck Trail road will be closed as well as access to El Cajon Mountain due to continued patrol and suppression rehab efforts.

Planned Actions

Hand crews and engine crews will continue to monitor and patrol the fireline for the next few days. Fire suppression repair is being completed at the same time. Demobilization of firefighters and support personnel is continuing today and tommorrow.
