Incident Overview
The Arthur 2 Fire was discovered August 18 inside the perimeter of the 2001 Arthur Fire. The lightning caused fire is southwest of the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
After being dormant for several weeks, it began actively burning again on September 29th. After initial movement on September 29th, the fire has not changed significantly since then. The Arthur 2 Fire is not threating any park visitor services or area residents. All park entrances and roads remain open.
At this time Arthur 2 Fire may or may not be visible from the park's East Entrance road.

| Significant Events | The Arthur 2 Fire was discovered August 18 inside the perimeter of the 2001 Arthur Fire. The lightning caused fire is southwest of the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It burned actively for several days, growing to 200 acres. It received a third of an inch of rain between August 22 and 23, causing fire activity to die down. Firefighters have continued to monitor the Arthur 2 Fire since that date. While occasional smoke has been observed, the fire has remained fairly quiet. |

| Planned Actions | Due to cool cloudy weather all resources on the Arthur 2 Fire will be released 10/4/10. The park will continue to monitor any noticable fire activity. |
