Missoula, MT. August 7, noon a.m. - The Packer Meadows Fire remains at 135 acres and 85 percent contained. Full containment of the main fire perimeter is expected on August 9. Some resources were released as this fire continues to cool with one Hotshot crew continuing mopping up around the edges and within the interior of the main fire as well as any remaining spot fires.

Three closure orders remain in place to ensure public safety. The orders close to the public the following:

  • Lee Creek Campground approximately two miles south of Lolo Hot Spring
  • North Lost Park Road (#2194) approximately three miles northeast of Lolo Pass at its junction with road # 2195
  • Lee Ridge Trail #295 at the beginning of the trail three miles south of Lolo Hot Springs to the Montana/Idaho border
