The prescribed underburning we have planned this spring is in the Lake Ellen area, up off of Flowery Trail approximately 6 miles east of Chewelah, and a unit up in the Pend Oreille Lakes area.

Today we are hoping to burn an approximate 150 acres in the Lake Ellen area, specifically just north of the Barnaby Creek and Lake Ellen Road junction. We will be burning grass, brush, and timber litter underneath the larger tree canopy.
