Incident Overview
The Bachelor Fire was discovered on 10/17/09. It is located south of Highway 260 and west of the Young Road (FR512) and is burning from atop the Mogollon Rim down into Colcord Canyon. About 25 personnel are assigned to this incident. The fire size is estimated at 850 acres on Monday morning and 100% contained. There are no immediate threats to houses in Colcord Estates and in Ponderosa Springs subdivisions. The fire is burning in steep terrain in ponderosa pine vegetation at about 7,500 feet elevation. The Type III organization has transitioned to a Type IV organization based at the Pleasant Valley Ranger District on the Tonto National Forest. No further updates to Inciweb are planned.
