Incident Overview

The Smokey Fire began at 1:32pm along northbound Interstate 5 at Smokey Bear Road. There are no evacuations or homes threatened. The fire is burning on the east side of I-5. The #4 (far right) lane of I-5 is restricted due to the fire. The Smokey Fire is in an area of extremely high fire frequency with light grasses and some chaparral.

The U.S. Forest Service is receiving assistance from L.A. County Fire Department.
