Incident Overview
This is the last daily update for the Big Meadow Fire. Further updates will be submitted only when there is something significant to report.
Special Announcement: All roads within Yosemite National Park are now open. Please drive the posted speed limit and use headlights when on roads near the fire as firefighters and road crews will still be working. Expect smoke along the road. Burned areas adjacent to the road remain closed to the public.
Current status: Crews are working in Foresta to clear debris in the area. Firefighters are patrolling all areas of the fire to mop up hot spots, restoring trails and fireline to their natural condition. Resource Advisors are working with hazard tree crews. As snags (standing dead trees) provide critical wildlife habitat, only trees that pose a safety risk are being removed.
