Incident Overview
Lightning started this fire on a remote ridge in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness on August 19. Given the remote location, mild fire season, and potential benefits, the fire is being managed, not fought.
The fire was discovered by aircraft on 8/20. Officials decided it qualified as a "fire-use" event. A "stage I" plan was prepared to prepare for contingencies in the near term.
The fire was declared "out" on Sept. 22.
