Summary

The North Mountain Fire began on June 21, and was caused by lightning. The fire is located 15 miles northeast of Groveland, Ca., north of the Tuolumne River and south of Cherry Creek, on the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. The Preston Falls Trail is closed. The fire is currently 2,889 and is 100% contained. The incident will transition to a Type 3 organization on July 7, 2008.
