The fire is currently 95% contained, and California&#39;s Type II South Central Sierra Interagency Incident Management Team returned command of the fire to the Boise District BLM today at 6:00 AM. The Incident Command Post in Jordan Valley, OR, will be relocated to the Boni Spike camp until full control is announced on July 28. Firefighters will continue to work on the Tongue until the fire is fully controlled, checking for hotspots and rehabilitating dozer lines. The Boulder Creek fire, located about four miles south of Silver City, Id., has burned approximately 6,000 acres of grass, brush and sage in very steep terrain. About 200 firefighters are actively suppressing the blaze using helicopters, air tankers, hand crews, engines and dozers. Firefighters have implemented structure protection for several homes in the vicinity of the fire, but no homes have burned.
